Wildlife & Photography Trips 2025
Come and explore the North West of Scotland by land and sea.
During 2025 the Lodge & Wildcard will be available for hire to groups and individuals for sightseeing/photography excursions, this will include self catering accomodation and scenic boat trips around the North West with some further afield trips planned.
We have availabiliy in June & August, June is particulary good for Handa Island trips to see and photograph the birds around the reserve.

From our tranquil base in the UK’s most North Westerly hamlet of Sheigra you are a short walk from the Beach and stunning cliffs of the North West (some of the highest cliffs in the UK).
An ideal base for Sandwood Bay and the beaches of Oldshoremore, Sheigra and Polin.
To the North Cape Wrath is accessible via a short drive/ferry and bus ride. And South to Handa Island Wildlife Reserve.
Your trip includes 3-6 nights self catering accommodation in our Lodge and 2-4 days at sea aboard our 10.5m Catamaran with a maximum of 8 guests. Additional days at sea available on demand. The remaining days are for you to explore the area by foot or via your own transport.
Your days at sea will include 4-6 hours aboard to enjoy the stunning scenery and Wildlife around the North West.
The Itinerary is weather dependant and we will vary the days to suit the group and the weather. It can include a trip North to Cape Wrath & Sandwood Bay and South to the amazing Handa Island.
We will also cruise round the sea Lochs of Inchard, Dughaill and Laxford.
We’ll keep an eye out for the Sea Eagles, Golden Eagles and Marine mammals, including seals, dolphins, porpoise, minke whales.
Handa Island wildlife reserve is home to one of the UK’s largest Guillimot bird colony and is an internationally important colony for various sea birds. Weather permitting this is the destination for at least one of the days at sea. Nothing quite prepares you for the experience of thousands of Sea Birds Nesting around the Cliffs of Handa Island viewed from Sea Level.
The trip will offer numerous opportunities for wildlife spotting, photography and simply to appreciate the stunning views of the North West by Land and Sea.
We offer private group trips and individual bookings (these will be sharing with other individuals in the Lodge and on the Boat, upto 8). Our Lodge offers 4 twin rooms, 2 shower rooms, a large kitchen/dining room and Living room.
We can also tailer the trip to your requirements. We welcome interest from Photographers and Naturalists wishing to lead trips.

Any shore based activities are self led, we can direct you to numerous walks nearby. We are a short drive from the North West Highlands Geopark with a number of the North West Geopark Rock Route nearby.
You will need to transport yourself to Sheigra and to Kinlochbervie on the Boat Trip days.
