Dive KLB, previously North East Dive
Chris & Cathy started up North East Dive around 20 years ago, both keen members of BSAC, we enjoyed numerous dives around Scotland & Northern England. 17 years ago we purchased our first Rib for commercial charter and offered regular diving in the Moray Firth and residential trips to the west coast of Scotland.
Chris is BSAC Advanced Diver & Instructor, PADI Open Water instructor & PSA Explorer advanced rebreather instructor. Cathy is BSAC Sports Diver & PSA Explorer advanced rebreather diver. Both are RYA Advanced Powerboat skippers with commercial endorsement, Chris is also an RYA powerboat instructor.
After repeatedly returning to Kinlochbervie due to the amazing scenic diving we decided to change from Rib’s to our Hardboat, Keltic Lady, and base her on the west coast in Kinlochbervie in 2017. Wildcard, our 10m Swift Cat, took over from Keltic lady in 2021.
We are primarily based in Kinlochbervie but will travel south to Oban, via the Summer Isles, Kyle of Lochalch, Sound of Mull.
We have amassed over 100 dive sites around Kinlochbervie alone, all within a few miles.
We are also very lucky to have been welcomed by the locals who know the area so well and are a continual wealth of knowledge.
Kinlochbervie is known for its rich marine life, clear Atlantic water and dramatic scenery both above and below the water. We have a large number of stunning sites, ranging from big gullies to narrow, sheer walls and pinnacles to stunning rocky slopes with striking white sand. Caves, swim throughs and the Blow hole at Am Balg. The gulleys, walls and channels are lined wi3h a colourful profusion of life. From multi-coloured jewel anemones , bright sponges, tunicates, hydroids, bryozoans, the list goes on. The conditions provide a fairly constant flow of water, allowing such organisms to flourish. And if the weather is not so favourable we have numerous sea lochs we can access which also offer some excellent dive sites.
We may be a little biased but Scotland really does have some amazing diving, whether its diving the sheltered sea loch’s over the winter months to the more exposed far north west we have such a diverse range of sites within a few hours of were we live in aberdeenshire (hence the name North East Dive rather than West).
So if you havnt booked a trip this year, we do have a few spaces available on some of our scheduled trips and a couple of weekends available for charter. We are also taking bookings for 2024 and 2025 so please feel free to get in touch with your requirements and we look forward to sharing some amazing diving with you.
If you’re still not sure then just check out our previous trip reports on facebook and we have rather a few videos on utube.
